Banaras Weaves and Crafts helps to provide business links among small producer groups. The role of this organisation is to promote assistance for capacity building and product diversification. The groups that work under Banaras Weaves and Crafts are the glass beads unit, the wooden products unit, the beads jewellery unit and the stone unit

The beads are sourced from smaller units & sorted and assembled by a women’s group of 15-20 women. The 3-4 wooden units are comprised of several small groups of traditional wood carvers in the community. Mr. Pandey, the present coordinator, looks after the business as well as other needs of the units through supervision, procurement, costing, quality and taking care of their welfare needs.
