While swimming in a hotel pool in Kuala Lumpur I watched Ann go about her business setting up her display. I felt compelled to get out of the pool to ask her what she was doing.
That conversation was my introduction to the Penan tribes of Sarawak, and it changed the way I looked at online shopping.
I realised that Ann and other wonderful people like her, who have boots on the ground doing the hard work, need us to shop fair trade so that we can change lives together.
It’s a team effort, and fair trade online shoppers have a very important role to play.
