Tropical Coral is a colourful design by aboriginal artist Josiah Omeenyo, from the Umpila-Kanthanampu language group. He creates the most amazing and colourful coral reef themed paintings.

This beautiful mango wood bowl, featuring the Tropical Coral design, is the result of a wonderful collaboration between Australian indigenous art and talented artisans of Noah’s Ark India.

A lovely piece, this bowl is a unique way to add some indigenous art to your decor.

Although we do not recommend that this gorgeous bowl is used for food, if you choose to do so, please ensure you only wipe with a damp cloth after use. Do not immerse in water, and naturally this bowl is not dishwasher safe.

Artisan Story

'I am a cultural leader and have led Lockhart River dancers with other leaders to many song and dance festivals outside of Lockhart River. I love to paint my heart on the canvas and linen to share my stories with the world.'

Josiah Omeenyo was born in May 1963 and comes from the Umpila-Kanthanampu language group, near Lockhart River, Queensland, Australia.

Josiah is well known for his coral reef themed paintings using spectacular colour combinations. He has exhibited in many solo and Lockhart River Arts Centre group exhibitions throughout Australia and in the USA.

In 2009 Josiah was shortlisted in the Paddington Landscape Award in Sydney.
