“A Colourful Read” Necklace
$19.99
These paper bead necklaces are handmade in Uganda, created from expired magazines and calendars. Same same but different, though each bead is unique, all the necklaces are very similar.
Strong colours, but not overly bold, they can be worn by even the faint hearted, as a nod to Ugandan women working to help themselves and the environment. Can also be used as a hanging decoration, for a wonderful way to support the ladies!
Necklaces Fair Trade and Handmade in Uganda.

Artisan Story
“I had been abandoned by my own relatives and friends and lived a wasted life. Nobody could come to my rescue as a disabled person. I didn’t believe I could ever start up a project for myself because I did not have the idea. When we underwent the training, I discovered that I had the ability to use my natural talent to live a better life than the begging condition. I now make hand bags, table cloths, liquid soap, school bags and necklaces, among other items for my customers. The customers like my products and trust me with their money once they make the orders. I have saved some money to take my child to school.”
