A very cool coaster, it has been made by purchasing unused magazine print runs directly from a print house and cleverly recycling them into a useable product. Now that’s way better than it going to landfill as waste!
What a great way to feel good about looking after the planet and looking after your table at the same time.

Artisan Story
Hien and Binh left Tuy Hoa, a small town in the middle of Vietnam and went to Ho Chi Minh City. They and some friends had been taught by the uncle of Duc, a member of their group, how to make vases, hats, small Vietnamese dolls etc using paper (bee nest paper folding technique) to sell to souvenir shops in HCMC.
With the assistance of Mai Vietnamese Handicrafts Hien and Binh have grown their group over the years to 20 workers coiling paper at the workshop, and 40 workers folding paper, working at home. Most of their workers come from their village in Tuy Hoa.
They are proud of what they have done, and they are very happy because they have found a good job . It is not a hard job and the salary is enough for them to cover expenses. Hien and Binh are happy with their business but they are happier with the social value they bring to others by providing them with a job.
