Artisan Story
Tra My is a group of 9 workers in Da Nang, headed by Mr Ngo Huu Quyen, who have been working with Mai Handicrafts since 2001. Cinnamon trees are planted by the Quang Nam people, especially at Trà My, and after 7 – 10 years they are allowed to harvest. After harvest the bark is left to dry for 2-3 days to soften, then it is pressed and dried. The bark is then cut to size, shaped and polished, ready to make delicious smelling cinnamon bark products.
