“Thai Nights” Candle – Teal

Weaving bamboo baskets is one of local handicrafts that has been passed on from generation to generation for a long period of time. The farmers and their ancestors produced woven products when they did not have any farming work to do. They made basketry products in order to spend their free time creatively. Their products are made in order to serve their needs for household use and also to sell to make additional money. In the north of Thailand the most common woven baskets are steamers and containers for sticky rice, foods and fruits.

This handmade candle in a woven bamboo basket is just one the creative ways old techniques are being adapted to modern times. The candle can be removed for use, or left in as a pretty and interesting decoration. If you remove the candle the tiny colourful baskets can also filled with chocolates and retied for gifting.
